Earlier last week notables from Japan, Germany, and New York City flew to Hollywood to celebrate Ugg’s latest campaign for autumn-winter 2019, #UggLife. The event kicked off with an intimate dinner on the rooftop of the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel, where photos from the footwear label’s global campaign were projected.

The campaign features duos who span generations and creative fields: Slick Woods and her son; Kim Gordon and her daughter, Coco; Sasha Lane and her brother; Paloma Elsesser and her sister Ama; and fashion designers Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta.

The following night all the campaign couples attended the official collection launch party at Academy LA. Throughout the evening DJs Coco & Breezy brought life to the party, and later the band the Garden performed for guests, who were quick to the dance floor.

A fresh crop of models was on hand, sporting Uggs and looking impossibly cool—perhaps because it was Woods herself who headed the event’s casting. She styled all 25 models and chose hair and makeup based on their personalities. “This is the first casting job I’ve ever had,” she explained. “It’s a new thing for me, but when it comes to casting, you just have to project the new thing that is up-and-coming and then go on your best instinct.... I think individuality and exclusivity are very important— everyone should be themselves.”

Of her own personal style, Woods continued: “It’s evolving. Sometimes I’m Kim Possible, and sometimes I’m Al Pacino.” Her advice for dressing for fall amid climate change: “Wear a fur coat and put the AC on, thank you.”
